Character History: Shortly after the events of Star Ocean 2, Leon petitioned to move to Earth in order to learn at an Earth university. He parted ways with his parents and left Expel with Claude, Rena, and Precis on an Earth Federation ship. Claude and Rena began working for the Earth Federation while Leon and Precis settled into a university. Within the university, Leon and Precis study robotics and advanced sciences, and help promote the growing research field of Heraldic Arts (Symbology). During his stay on Earth, Leon becomes close to Claude's mother. Two years into their studying, Leon is recruited by Precis to go find Opera and Ernest after they crash-land on a "blue sphere." Bringing along their old companions from Expel, they head off to find Opera and Ernest -- only to be caught in the same force that brought down Opera and Ernest's ship in the first place.
Abilites/Special Powers: As a Fellpool, Leon has the cat ears and sensitivities related to his species -- exceptionally strong senses of smell and hearing and strong night vision. However, unlike most other Fellpools in the Star Ocean series, Leon does not appear to have the feline tail that others have. His Fellpool genes come from a genetic mutation within the Expelians, so he is a rarity amongst the regular residents of Expel.
The Fellpool race has the potential to use Heraldry, the magic of the Star Ocean universe, unlike some others that show no prowess in using the magic at all. Leon's magic is mostly centered on water, ice, and darkness elements, and he can harness the magic of certain tomes to create warrior that will attack out of the book. He maintains these skills in Blue Sphere. Two systems in Star Ocean are item creation and talent. Leon’s initial talent, other than magical potential, is writing ability. He can author manuals and such within the game, so his writing is exceptional for a boy his age.
